I helped as in game observer for the Auckland Suercars Eseries Wildcard iRacing Tournament. Was cool to see things behind the scenes and help make the broadcast happen.
Being “game observer” is basically like an in game camera man or director picking out which cars to follow and angles to use. I’ve done a lot of that but not in iRacing so I felt the pressure going in but the LetsPlay.Live team were great. We had two observers to switch between for different angles. After some last minute issues and panic around overlays and graphics sizes it was a thrill to pull off a broadcast for the Supercars series! Crazy to say I’ve worked on an official supercars event.
I was doing everything remotely communicating online with broadcast and running the game on my own computer which was then streamed back to the broadcast team to use.
