The Toyota 86 E-Cup was once again a big event in NZ sim racing, backed by Toyota and NZ Esports amongst a range of others it’s a prestigious series. It was a real privilege to work on the broadcasts.
My role was broadcast assistant, providing the driver cameras and race replays for all four rounds that would be live broadcast on NZ Sim Racing TV as well as Sky channel 83.

The series qualification process wasn’t broadcast but as part of the team I took the opportunity to watch the races and report on all the action in Hectic News. It resulted in one of the articles I’m most proud of, looking at who some of the on form drivers were heading into the championship season.

Once we got into the live broadcasts it was a juggling act managing the driver cams, communicating with Brad when they were available, while following the action and scrubbing back to crashes and crucial overtakes for replays. I really enjoyed it.
